This item is not an aircraft model but an accessory listed in the decal category. The SPACE range combines 3D printing with decal paper: the detail is printed in relief and already in color, so it is applied much like a decal but looks three-dimensional on the model. This particular set covers two elements of the interior of the B-26G Marauder bomber in 1:48 scale, the quilted insulation of the cockpit walls and the armor plates. The exact number of pieces on the sheet and which parts of the cockpit the set covers are not stated here.
The Martin B-26 Marauder was an American twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War, recognizable by its cylindrical fuselage and its relatively short wing with high wing loading. The G version belonged to the late production runs with an increased wing incidence and a reworked vertical tail. The interior of the cockpit had walls fitted with quilted insulation and armor plates around the seats to protect the crew, and both are clearly visible in a model through the glazed nose and cockpit, so the detail is worth doing.
The surface the part goes onto has to be smooth and ideally gloss, as a matte surface leaves a silvery haze under the decal. Cut the part out together with the edge of the carrier film, wet only the backing paper with a sponge and a drop of detergent and let it rest on a paper towel until it releases. Lift it off with tweezers, seat it in a drop of white PVA glue and press the air out with a soft cloth. Do not use any softener at all, as its chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the element. Once dry, do not clear coat it all over with matte, as you would lose the contrast and the depth of the print.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
