A die-cut mask for the cabin glazing of the training and combat Strikemaster in 1:48 scale is a separate accessory from Kovozavody Prostejov.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely die-cut sheet with which the cabin glazing of the British training and combat machine is covered before spraying, in the larger scale. Kovozavody Prostejov supply it separately for those who want their frames as straight as the rest of the model. It also comes in handy for anyone building several examples of the same type who does not want to cut their own stencil each time.
The Strikemaster has a cabin with two side-by-side seats, and therefore a wide canopy with several bars and rounded corners. Going round them with tape by hand means an hour of work and there is still a risk of one line wandering. A die-cut shape cuts this part to a few minutes and the result comes out the same every time. A sharp boundary between the frame and the glass also holds its shape once dry, so nothing has to be touched up with a brush.
Wash the glazing in lukewarm water and dry it without rubbing. Transfer the shape with tweezers, seat it against the corner of the frame and only then press the whole area down. Do not spray one heavy coat at once – two thin ones hold better and do not creep under the edge. Take the sheet off shortly after the paint is touch dry, so that the paint does not break away with the edge. If a small run does appear under the mask, scrape it away with a pointed wooden stick while the surface is still soft.
In the bag there are only the die-cut masks; no model and no varnish are supplied with them.
