MASTER 1:48 BAe Hawk T.1 - pitot tube

A turned metal part by the Polish manufacturer MASTER that replaces the forward pitot tube on models of the British BAe Hawk T.1 trainer in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail component for raising the realism of a finished model.

The real subject

The BAe Hawk T.1 is a British jet trainer and light combat aircraft, known among other things from the Red Arrows display team. Its sharp forward tube is a conspicuous detail that is hard to render faithfully in plastic.

Fitting and use

Drill the original plastic part out and glue the metal tube in with cyanoacrylate.
The metal tube is straight, sharp and strong and does not deform during handling.
The surface can be chemically blackened before painting for better paint adhesion.
