This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Roden captures the elegant American biplane Beechcraft D17S Staggerwing. The box holds gray plastic, clear parts and a decal sheet. The model is built from individual sprues and is meant to be glued and painted.
The Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing was a fast American touring biplane of the 1930s, famous for the unusual arrangement of its wings with negative stagger, the lower wing set forward of the upper one. The D17S version had a powerful radial engine and was among the fastest and most luxurious civil aircraft of its day; the machines also served in military roles.
Use liquid cement for plastic and pay attention to the accurate seating of the struts of the characteristic wing arrangement. Add the bracing wires from a thin thread. Apply a primer before painting, put the glossy civil finishes on with an airbrush and set the decals on a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
