A detail set from the SPACE range by the Czech maker Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for the cockpits of a model of the Bell AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter. The set combines colored 3D decals with a raised relief (the instrument panels, the side panels and other elements of both cockpits) with photo-etched parts in steel, typically the seat belts. The interior thus gains a full-color, three-dimensional look without hand-painting the instruments and the harnesses.
The Bell AH-1G Cobra was the first production attack helicopter in the world. It was created for use in Vietnam, had a narrow fuselage with tandem cockpits (the gunner in front, the pilot behind) and carried a cannon and unguided rockets. It became the basis of a whole family of combat helicopters.
The colored 3D decals are thicker than ordinary ones and do not tolerate softeners; they are transferred onto a well-dried gloss surface and fixed with thin PVA glue. The steel belts are flexible and hold a shape well; they are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the interior of both cockpits before the fuselage is closed.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
