A resin set of interchangeable wheels (the Type 2 variant) for models of the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor in 1:48 scale from the Reskit brand. It is not a kit but a detail accessory that replaces the wheels from the original kit with more faithful castings with a finely worked tread and hub.
Resin wheels have sharper detail than injection-molded parts and tend to be made with a weighted tire shape that imitates how the tire settles onto the ground. The Type 2 designation corresponds to a particular variant of tread or wheel execution; when buying, check that it matches your subject.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the tires a matte dark gray (not black), the hubs in a shade to match the subject, and pick them out with a fine removable wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
