This set from Eduard is a combined accessory (of the Big Ed type), not a helicopter model. It brings several detail sets for a model of the light Bell OH-13 Sioux observation helicopter in 1:48 scale together in a single box: pre-painted photo-etched parts for the interior and the exterior, photo-etched seat belts and masking templates for the glazing. The set therefore covers the detailing of the model in one step.
The OH-13 Sioux was a light multi-purpose helicopter with a characteristic bubble-shaped glazed cabin and a lattice tail boom. It made its name as an observation and medevac machine; the large glazed area makes the interior and the framing very visible, so fine photo-etched elements and accurate masks show up markedly on a model.
Separate the photo-etched parts on a hard surface and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); pre-painted photo-etch is not varnished over. Stick the masks onto clean glazing and lift them off carefully after spraying. Shape the bends with tweezers or a photo-etch bending tool.
This is an accessory set, not a whole model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
