A plastic kit of the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 Kurfürst in 1:48 scale from the Weekend Edition range by Eduard. In keeping with this simpler edition, the boxing contains plastic parts and Eduard decals; pre-painted photo-etch, masks and resin are not included. Four color schemes are available - three German and one Italian finish.
The Bf 109K-4 was the latest production version of the legendary Messerschmitt Bf 109, committed at the end of the Second World War. It was powered by the powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and, compared with the earlier Gustavs, it had an aerodynamically cleaned-up airframe, a pressurized cockpit and heavier armament. The Kurfürst nickname belonged to the whole K series. The machines served with Luftwaffe units defending the territory of the Reich in the last months of the war.
Eduard's Bf 109 tooling is marked by fine engraving and a good fit. We recommend working with liquid cement for plastic and painting with an airbrush. Because the Weekend edition contains no masks, prepare your own masking tape for the cockpit glazing. Late Luftwaffe aircraft are typified by a broken camouflage in shades of gray; sketch the transitions out in advance and pick the panel lines out with a subtle wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
