This injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss represents the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:48 scale. The model has engraved surface texture, a detailed cockpit and decals for two well known pilots of fighter wing JG 52.
The Bf 109G-6 was the most numerously produced version of the whole Bf 109 line. It was powered by a Daimler-Benz engine and had the characteristic bulges over the engine cowling covering the synchronized machine guns. The G-6 version was built in large numbers from 1943 and was deployed on practically every front, from the defense of the Reich through the Eastern Front to the Mediterranean. Thanks to the range of stores and fittings it existed in many armament and equipment forms, which makes it a rewarding subject for collectors.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Before spraying we recommend a base coat (primer) and an airbrush; for the typical mottled Luftwaffe schemes, masking or fine spraying with a soft edge works well. The canopy framing will stand out after careful masking and painting separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
