An injection-molded plastic kit of the British two-seat fighter biplane Bristol F.2B Fighter from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The model captures the characteristic structure with room for the pilot and for the rear gunner and offers a finely engraved surface. Depending on the particular edition the box may contain photo-etched parts, masking templates and several decal schemes, or it may be a simpler release with a basic set of decals.
The Bristol F.2B, nicknamed the Brisfit, was a British two-seat fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the end of the First World War. It was distinguished by a sturdy structure, good agility and a pair of machine guns, with the pilot firing forward and the gunner covering the rear. After initial losses the machine proved itself and became one of the most successful British aircraft of its class; it remained in service long after the war.
Biplanes call for patience when building the interplane struts and bracing wires. A firm seating of the lower wing, careful dry-fitting and tensioning the rigging from a thin thread are recommended. Use a primer, an airbrush and gentle accenting of the ribs of the fabric covering. Wooden and fabric surfaces come out best with suitable shades and discreet weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
