The set of masks 1:48 C6N Nat. Ins. w/ White Outline from Dead Design is for spraying national insignia with a light outline for a model of the reconnaissance Nakajima Saiun.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masks prepared for spraying the Japanese national insignia onto a model of the carrier-borne reconnaissance aircraft Nakajima C6N. The name specifies the rendition with a light outline around the disc. What you get is a painting aid; the plastic parts of the Saiun are not included and come from your own kit.
The Saiun served the Imperial Japanese Navy as the eyes of the fleet. Instead of armor and cannons the designers staked everything on an aerodynamically clean airframe and a strong engine, so the machine relied on simply outrunning its pursuers. A characteristic feature is the long glazed cockpit canopy stretching across the whole fuselage spine, under which a crew of three sat. The type entered the fighting only in the last year of the war.
An insignia with a light outline is sprayed in two stages, so the result stands or falls with exact placing. Before you start, mark a light axis in pencil to line the mask up with, so that the disc sits at the same height on both sides of the fuselage. Let the light coat dry for longer than seems necessary. When uncovering, pull at a shallow angle and slowly, so that the edge stays sharp.
