The American twill work suit got its darker tone in the Lifecolor uniform line: US Army Uniforms HBT Dark Shade is a water-based acrylic paint for figures and kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The work and combat clothing of the American army was sewn from a firm twill cloth known by the weave of the fabric as HBT, herringbone twill. The fabric had a color character of its own, different from the woolen parts of the uniform, and this shade from the acrylic line of the Italian maker Lifecolor captures its darker position.
The line offers the twill shade in two positions and the difference between them is not cosmetic. The dark tone corresponds to newer, less washed fabric and to the places shadow leans into. It is therefore used as the base of the whole garment, onto which the lighter transitions are only then laid, or as the shadow color into the folds if you are building the uniform from the lighter variant.
The approach on a small area: twill fabric has a pronounced texture that figure makers suggest with a fine engraving. A thin coat of paint preserves it, a heavy one floods it. Better twice thinly, then, than once heavily.
For modelers of figures of American soldiers, for builders of dioramas from the Pacific and European theaters alike and for everyone who wants work clothing set apart in color from service dress.
Keep out of the reach of children, ventilate while working and close the container well.
