An Eduard photo-etched set meant to sharpen a plastic model of the Fiat CR.42 Falco fighter biplane in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory in thin etched sheet that replaces and completes fine parts beyond the reach of injection-molded plastic. Some of the parts are printed in color for immediate use.
The Fiat CR.42 Falco was an Italian fighter biplane of the late 1930s and one of the last biplanes to see combat. Despite its dated layout it was agile and tough, and it served with the Regia Aeronautica and with its allies in the Second World War on a number of fronts.
The etched parts bring out elements of the interior and the exterior alike — the instrument panel, the elements of the cockpit, the seat belts and small external details. On a biplane the fine bracing and cockpit detail come into their own in particular. The parts are separated with a sharp blade and bonded with super glue, and the color parts are not painted over.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
