The set contains a helmet for a figure in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a whole figure but a separate part for a conversion. The manufacturer makes this variant alongside a variant of the same helmet without the detail designation; check the difference between them on the box. The same subject is released in other scales too, so the scale is the distinguishing detail.
The vz. 32 steel helmet was the headgear of the Czechoslovak army; the designation matches the 1932 pattern and it came into service during the 1930s. Its distinguishing mark is a fairly low smooth bowl with a short, slightly sloping edge. It was used after 1939 by other armies as well. For a modeler it is interesting mainly because it is missing from ordinary plastic kits and a figure of the interwar Czechoslovak army cannot be built without a separate part.
First separate the part from the casting block with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and level the gate mark with a coarser abrasive paper. If the set is cast in resin, wash it in lukewarm water with detergent before painting to clear it of remains of mold release agent, and choose the glue according to the material: cyanoacrylate on resin, thin cement for plastic on plastic parts. Wet-sand resin and do so with respiratory protection.
Paint the helmet thinly, so that the sharp edge of the rim stays: in 1:48 scale it is the only pronounced shape on the whole part. Underline the base with a dark wash around the rim and lighten the crown gently with a drybrush. If you want to use the helmet as a prop set down, turn it so that the inside is visible and paint that in a different, lighter shade. Before gluing, check the seating on the figure's head dry and fill any gap with two-part modeling putty.
This is an accessory for a figure, not a model on its own. The set is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and a figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
