Brengun 1:48 D-704 buddy tank, early type is a resin pod for refueling in flight. It is a stores accessory to a model of an aircraft, not a kit in its own right.

The set brings a resin casting of the D-704 pod, with which carrier aircraft passed fuel to other aircraft in flight. It is not a model of an aircraft nor of its main parts but an accessory, hung under the wing or the fuselage of a finished model. This set captures the early form of the pod as it was used roughly in the 1960s and 1970s. The later form of the same device is issued as a separate item, so choose the matching variant according to the era of your aircraft; that is the only difference between the two sets.
Refueling by the buddy method means that the role of the tanker is taken by an ordinary combat aircraft carrying a detachable pod with a hose and a drogue. Thanks to that a squadron needs no specialized tanker machine, and the outfit can be taken off at any time according to the task. At its rear the pod carries a reel drum with the hose, and at the front a small ram-air turbine that drives the pump. It is precisely these small shapes that decide whether the store looks convincing on a model.
Wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent first, so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear; otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and do not break them. Sand wet and with respiratory protection, as resin dust is not to be inhaled. It is glued solely with cyanoacrylate, since ordinary plastic cement has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting and it is better to strengthen the joint of the pylon with a piece of wire, so that the heavier casting holds under the wing.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
