A set of resin propellers for a model of the Bronco in 1:72 scale, intended for the OV-10A, OV-10B and OV-10C versions. This is not a kit of the aircraft but a replacement part. Propellers are among the features where injection-molded plastic comes to the limit of its possibilities: the blades have to be thin, with a fine profile and a clean transition into the propeller hub, and that is exactly what a resin casting manages better.
The OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft for observation, forward air control and light strike tasks, recognizable by its tail booms and the glazed tandem cockpit. Besides the basic American OV-10A version, further variants came about for different tasks and operators, among them the OV-10B and the OV-10C. On a turboprop aircraft the propellers are a visually prominent feature which affects the overall impression of the finished model more than a small part would suggest.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release agent is left on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and sand the traces down carefully, best of all wet and with respiratory protection. On propellers, take care that all the blades have the same pitch, otherwise the model will look crooked in the view from the front. It is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting; it makes sense to paint thin blades in several light coats, so that the fine edges are not flooded.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
