Masks for the de Havilland Chipmunk T.20 in 1:48 scale will help to paint the narrow cockpit frames of the trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for covering the glazing of the Chipmunk trainer while spraying. It comes from the production of Eduard, which has long devoted itself to small additions for plastic kits. The aircraft itself is sold separately.
The DHC-1 Chipmunk came about after the Second World War at the Canadian branch of de Havilland as a successor to the Tiger Moth biplane. A two-seat all-metal low-wing aircraft with tandem seats and a long canopy, it became the basic trainer of the Royal Air Force and of a number of other operators. The T.20 designation belongs to the military form for foreign customers; the aircraft served for decades and some of them are still in civil use today. The design went for easy maintenance and low running costs, thanks to which the machines stayed in service considerably longer than originally reckoned.
The frames of a small trainer are narrow, so it pays to work under good light and with sharp tweezers. Once laid on, go over the edges again with a toothpick. Spray them first with the interior shade or a fine filling coat, so that any seepage shows before the covering paint comes. Divide the work into shorter stretches, so that your hand stays sure.
The package is an accessory for painting, not a kit of the aircraft.
