An injection-molded plastic kit of the British sports and touring aircraft Miles M.2H Hawk Major in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). It is a simple kit with a small number of parts; the package holds clear glazing, decals and a printed acetate sheet with alternative cockpit windscreens. The Over Spain release concentrates on machines connected with the Spanish scene.
The Miles Hawk Major was a British all-wood low-wing monoplane of the mid-1930s, popular with sports and touring pilots and in air races. Several machines also found their way to Spain, where civil war broke out in the second half of the 1930s. The elegant aircraft with fixed landing gear and an inline engine was built in a few dozen examples.
The simple kit suits less experienced modelers too, yet dry fitting the parts is still worth the trouble. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. An airbrush, a base color and a good varnish suit the smooth gloss surfaces. Fit the glazing and the cockpit windscreen only after the varnish has gone on.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
