This is a resin set of main wheels supplemented by a painting mask for a model of the German bomber aircraft the Dornier Do-217 in 1:48 scale. The set is not a standalone aircraft kit but a detail accessory: it replaces the plastic wheels from the box with more precisely cast resin parts with a fine tire tread pattern, and the mask enclosed makes it easier to paint the rim cleanly.
Cast wheels look more realistic than injection-molded parts and are usually done with the load on the contact patch suggested. The mask allows a sharp transition between the tire and the rim without tedious touching up by hand. The parts are used when building a corresponding model of the Do-217 in this scale.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the contact patches down. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Stick the mask onto a clean, degreased surface and spray the paint in thin coats. Apply a primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
