The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is a piston-engined attack aircraft that met jet machines in service and yet was not lost among them. What kept it there was its endurance over a battlefield and the ability to carry a remarkable amount of armament: bombs, rockets and drop tanks hung on a row of pylons under the wing and under the center section. Anyone who builds a fully loaded Skyraider knows that it is exactly the pylons that the whole impression of the underside of a model rests on.
The package brings replacement inner pylons in 1:48 scale. They replace the parts from a kit and are fitted in their place under the wing. The count of pieces and the kits the set is calculated for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not of polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the pylon and sand the remainder, so that it seats on the wing without a gap. Before painting, wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them.
The set suits modelers who build the Skyraider in full combat configuration and do not want the result pulled down by coarse kit parts. Fitting them is a short job without an intervention into the structure of the model. It is an accessory to a kit of your own; paints, glue and armament are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
