An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Douglas A-4B Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is a reissue (rebox) from Hobby 2000: the plastic parts come from Hasegawa tooling, and the box is complemented by Cartograf decals and painting masks. The exact part count and the number of decal schemes are given on the box of the set.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a small, light and exceptionally agile carrier-based attack aircraft of the US Navy, whose unmistakably compact shape was designed by Ed Heinemann. The A-4B version of the late 1950s brought, among other things, a strengthened airframe and the ability to refuel in flight. The Skyhawk served for decades with a number of air arms around the world and proved itself as a reliable carrier of bombs and rockets.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, sand the joints and lay down a primer. The classic naval scheme (gray above, white below) and the colorful squadron markings are best sprayed with an airbrush using the masks provided. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close up the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
