The EA-6B Prowler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder carrier bomber. The crew is made up of a pilot and three electronic warfare officers, who sit in two pairs one behind the other, so that the cockpit is substantially longer than on an ordinary combat aircraft. The ICAP II designation corresponds to the upgrade standard which widened the jamming capabilities of the aircraft.
The set brings colored interior elements printed on decal paper for the forward as well as the rear part of the cockpit. The relief of the print gives the instruments, the consoles and the panels a depth that flat printing does not have. The elements are cut out of the sheet, soaked briefly in lukewarm water and slid off the backing paper into place, and a decal softener does not belong with them.
First spray the inside, let the paint cure and coat it with a gloss clear, because the elements have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the parts out with a sharp blade, soak them in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds, slide them off the paper with tweezers and press them down with a cotton swab. With a long cockpit it pays to work from the front pair of seats backwards and to keep checking that the finished parts do not prevent the fuselage from coming together. Mask the glazing of the canopy before the external coat is sprayed.
The set is for modelers who are building the Prowler from Kinetic and do not want to spend evenings painting four crew stations. It will also be appreciated by anyone who builds faster and wants a good result without working on the finest details. The package contains only the decals; the model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
