An injection-molded plastic kit of the battleship Nagato from the maker Fujimi. The model captures the ship as she was at the outbreak of the war in the Pacific, and in the package you will find plastic sprues with the parts, a decal sheet and finely rendered superstructure. The popular 1:700 scale is among the most widespread for collectors of warships.
Nagato was the lead ship of the class of the same name and one of the first battleships in the world armed with 41 cm (16 inch) guns. After her completion in the early 1920s she was among the pride of the Imperial Japanese Navy and served as flagship of the Combined Fleet. She survived the war in the Pacific and was lost only after it ended.
It works well to assemble the hull and the decks, fill the seams and only then add the small armament and the superstructure. Apply the steel gray of the decks and the sides with an airbrush; the wooden decks can be done with a mask or with a patient brush. Fine details such as railings and ladders are raised markedly by a separately bought photo-etched set. Keep the weathering discreet, so that the model looks realistic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
