An aftermarket set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Xtradecal. The sheet focuses on the early versions of the vertical takeoff Harrier in the service of the Royal Air Force and offers several color options including the matching national markings and stencils. The decals go onto a finished plastic kit of the matching type and scale.
The Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.1 and its more powerful development the GR.3 were the first British aircraft in action with vertical and short takeoff and landing (V/STOL). They served with the RAF in the ground attack and reconnaissance role, among other places with units in Western Europe, and carried camouflage schemes typical of the Cold War.
The base has to be a smooth gloss surface. Release the decal in lukewarm water, move it into place and blot the excess water away. With a decal softener the decal follows the detail and the engraved lines better. Once dry, seal it with a clear coat of the sheen you want.
This is a stand-alone decal set. The plastic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
