The real subject

The 39M Csaba armored car was created in Hungary to a design by Nicholas Straussler, and the Hungarian army used it during the Second World War for reconnaissance and liaison. It was a light four-wheeled vehicle with all-wheel drive, whose silhouette was shaped in part by its large wheels with their pronounced tire tread.

What the set contains

The set replaces the kit wheels in 1:35 scale with separate parts that have a finer surface. The tires carry the tread and the markings of the Hungarian tire brand Cordatic, and the hubs have more sharply drawn outlines than the parts from the kit mold. The parts are made for the 39M Csaba model, so with another subject check the wheel diameter and the way it mounts on the axle beforehand.

Building and painting tips

Use super glue for bonding, which will reliably join the accessory part to the plastic of the kit. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand off the rest, so that the tread around the tire is not damaged. Before painting, wash the wheels in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, degrease them and let them dry thoroughly, otherwise the paint may not take. Spraying the tire and the hub separately and touching up the joint line with a brush has proved itself; the specific way to prepare the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
