A detail set of the exhaust nozzle for the F-100D Super Sabre fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the simplified exhaust end from a plastic kit with a faithfully detailed nozzle with a fine structure of the petals and the inner duct.
The F-100 Super Sabre was an American fighter of the 1950s, one of the first production types able to reach supersonic speed in level flight. The F-100D version was a fighter-bomber and the most widespread variant of the whole line, used extensively in the war in Vietnam as well.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The inside of the nozzle comes into its own once painted in metal shades, with graded toning and the petals picked out gently with a wash. Take care to seat the part correctly in the rear of the fuselage.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
