Quickboost air intake covers for an F-14 Tomcat model in 1:48 scale, for a machine shown on the ramp.

Replacement parts from Quickboost for a model of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat in 1:48 scale. They fit into the rectangular air intakes on the sides of the forward fuselage and close them the way it is done on parked aircraft in reality. The covers are part of the equipment the ground crew fits to a machine once the engines are shut down, so that dirt and small objects cannot get into the intake ducts.
They suit a build of an aircraft standing on deck or on the apron, ideally as part of a scene with ground crew, a tow tractor or loaded weapons. They also save work in the intake ducts: on a Tomcat model the inside of these is hard to polish and spray, and with the intakes closed nobody looks into them. For a model in a flying pose they are not suitable, because there the intakes should be open.
Before gluing, try the covers dry in both intakes, cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest so that the edge lines up with the outline of the intake. The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Wash and degrease them before painting, otherwise the paint will rub off the smooth surface while you handle them. It is best to paint them aside and fit them to the finished model.
The delivery consists of the air intake covers for this item. The kit, paints, decals and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
