This item is NOT an airplane model, but a detail accessory from the Quickboost brand (the Aires range) for modelers. It holds a pair of finely cast resin ejection seats including safety belts, which replace the simplified plastic seats in a kit of the F-14A/B Tomcat fighter in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-geometry wing. The A and B versions used Martin-Baker GRU-7A ejection seats, and a faithful rendering of them lifts the look of an open cockpit considerably.

Contents and use

• Two resin seats with cast safety belts for the front and rear cockpit.
• A fine casting with no flash, ready to be cleaned up and clear-coated.
• The parts are cut from the casting blocks, washed free of mold release agent and fitted with cyanoacrylate glue.
