1:48 F-16A MLU is a mask set for a model of this upgraded single-engine fighter in 1:48 scale. These are pre-cut masks, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mask set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the F-16A after the MLU upgrade in 1:48 scale. The masks are pre-cut to shape and are applied to the areas that are to stay free of paint. This item is the standard version without the TFace suffix; Eduard also makes the version prepared for the inside of the glazing under the same name with the TFace suffix, so you can choose according to how you are building the cockpit.
The F-16 is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft with a one-piece canopy with no forward frame, which makes masking the glazing on a model a fairly particular job. The designation MLU refers to the Mid-Life Update program that the A and B versions went through with European operators; the upgraded aircraft are designated F-16AM and F-16BM. The changes concerned mainly the equipment, while the external shape of the airframe stayed close to the original.
First wash and degrease the glazing. Lay the mask down with tweezers, press it with a toothpick and spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. On a frameless canopy it is worth spraying the interior shade of the frame first and only then the outer coat. Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch. Wipe any adhesive residue off with a soft cloth, not with solvent.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
