A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for the Danish F-16AM E-006 in the Dannebrog flag finish from 2024.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-16AM machine with the fuselage number E-006 received an all-over painting derived from the Danish Dannebrog flag in 2024. A white cross on a deep red field passes over the sides of the fuselage and over the vertical tail surface, accompanied by lettering recalling half a century since the first flight of the Fighting Falcon prototype. The Royal Danish Air Force was at the same time writing the last chapter of its story with this type.
The set covers exactly this one anniversary artwork: extensive flag areas for the left and the right side, the cross on the fin, the national insignia, the fuselage number and small lettering tied to the jubilee. The graphics are laid out so that the color fields carry on across the dividing seams between the parts of the kit.
The cut corresponds to 1:48 scale, that is to kits of the European Fighting Falcon with the brake chute behind the cabin. It is advisable to unify the base with gloss before the work – under a large area of decal a silvery haze easily appears on matte paint.
Release the sizeable pieces in warm water for longer than the small lettering and carry them to the plastic together with the paper backing, which you slide out only in place. Press the air out from under the film with a soft brush from the center outward. In the panel grooves and at the transition to the leading edge of the fin, a softening solution applied in two goes helps. The finished model is closed at the end with a semi-matte varnish. Anyone building a model for a display case with side lighting will appreciate that a velvety surface suppresses sharp reflections on the extensive red fields.
