A kit of the single-engined multirole F-16C fighter in 1:48 scale. According to the name it is an edition tied to the online game War Thunder, which is a licensed designation for a whole line and not a detail about the real subject itself. The manufacturer is the Italian company Italeri.
The Falcon came about in the 1970s as an answer to the need for a cheaper and agile complement to heavy fighters. It introduced a number of innovations that later became ordinary: fly-by-wire controls with no mechanical linkage, a markedly reclined pilot's seat, a side stick instead of a conventional control column and a bubble canopy with a view in practically every direction. The C version brought further modernization of the equipment and became the most widespread in the whole family. The aircraft flies in dozens of countries and is among the most successful postwar designs.
Finish the cockpit and the seat first; with a canopy as clear as this, everything inside is visible. Fill and smooth the engine air intake, as a gap in the throat catches the eye. The gray finish of the aircraft comes out best when you shade the individual panels subtly and bring the lines out with a thin wash.
The kit is unassembled and without a surface finish; coatings and glue are not in the package.
