A detail set of the wheel bays for the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the simplified bays of a plastic kit with faithfully detailed compartments carrying the structure of the ribs, piping, wiring and rivets.
The F-4 Phantom II was an American twin-engine two-seat multirole combat aircraft, widely flown in many countries. Its rugged structure and powerful engines made it one of the most widespread Western aircraft of its day. The landing gear bays are among the compartments that markedly shape the impression a model makes with the gear down.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue. Protect your airways while sanding. The bays come into their own once painted in a base shade, with the edges picked out by a dry brush and a gentle wash applied.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
