This resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale extends and refines a kit of the Vought F-8E Crusader carrier-based fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but a comprehensive accessory that adds finely made resin parts where the injection-molded plastic is simplified. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was an American supersonic carrier-based fighter of the US Navy and the Marine Corps from the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. It became famous for its variable-incidence wing, which was raised for take-off and landing, and for its armament of four 20 mm cannon. It was flown, among other theaters, during the Vietnam War, where it counted as one of the last classic fighters with heavy gun armament.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The fine edges and details come into their own with a suitable choice of shades and accentuated shadows. Before gluing, check that the parts seat in the base kit and rework the surfaces if necessary.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not the airplane model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
