This is a set of 3D-printed color interior on decal paper by Quinta Studio. It is not an airplane model or a kit but a detail accessory that equips the cockpit with finished, colored parts. The technology combines the three-dimensional depth of resin parts with the simplicity of color photo-etch: every dial is covered with a layer of gloss varnish, so it looks glazed, and the fine legends and controls are printed in color right away.
The F4U-1A Corsair was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War with its characteristic inverted gull wing and a powerful radial engine. The -1A version received a raised seat and a revised canopy for a better view when landing on a carrier deck, thanks to which the machine became a fully fledged carrier aircraft.
The parts are printed on backing decal paper and are transferred with water: leave the cut-out element in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on gloss varnish (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), with which you coat the surface beforehand; on an uneven shape a drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate) helps. Do not use a decal softener or fixer at all, as they would attack the printed resin. The panels are pressed gently into the shape of the instrument panel and the side consoles. The set dramatically shortens the time spent painting a cockpit and also suits cases where you want to manage at least part of the work without an airbrush.
The accessory is supplied on its own and contains no model or glue. Checking compatibility with a particular kit before ordering is advisable.
