This resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires replaces the simplified wheel bays of the Vought F4U-4 Corsair model with a faithful copy in 1:48 scale. The castings bring the texture of the plumbing, the ribbing and the bay walls inside the inverted gull wing. It is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone aircraft model.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter characterized by its inverted gull wing. The late F4U-4 version received a more powerful radial engine and a four-blade propeller. The landing gear retracted into bays at the wing root, which on carefully built models belong among the visible areas.
Before gluing, wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin with respiratory protection. The set suits modelers with experience of resin.
