An injection-molded plastic model of the carrier fighter Vought F4U-7 Corsair in 1:48 scale from the brand Hobby Boss. It is the last production version of the Corsair, built for French naval aviation. The model offers the characteristic gull wing, a detailed cockpit with clear parts and decals for French machines.
The F4U-7 was the very last production version of the legendary Corsair; only around ninety were built, all of them for France. It combined the airframe and landing gear of the F4U-4 version with the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine and French equipment. French Corsairs saw action in Indochina and over North Africa, among other places. A typical feature of the whole family is the gull wing, which made it possible to use a short, sturdy landing gear under a large propeller.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints of the fuselage and the leading edges. It pays to paint and shade the cockpit and the radial engine before closing them up. Apply primer before painting; the dark blue naval schemes come alive with fine panel highlighting and wear. Lay the colors on with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
