About product

Quickboost landing gear doors for the Dornier Do 17Z (1:72)

A resin detail accessory from Quickboost, made by Aires, in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the main landing gear doors with more faithfully rendered resin parts with fine relief. It is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone accessory that raises the fidelity of the finished build.

The real subject

The Dornier Do 17Z was a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War with a long, slender fuselage, which earned it the nickname Flying Pencil. The Z version was powered by radial engines and the main landing gear retracted into the engine nacelles.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts to remove any mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The detail will stand out after light shading and accentuation.

Who it is for

  • For modelers building a Do 17Z in 1:72 scale.
  • For anyone after faithful landing gear doors without reworking the plastic.
  • The aircraft kit itself is not included in the package.
