A photo-etched detail set for the American carrier-based F6F-3 Hellcat fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard - fine metal parts, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set for the American carrier-based Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not an airplane model but a set of fine metal parts that replace or complete the detail of a plastic kit. Photo-etched parts in thin sheet are sharper than molded plastic and cover the instrument panel, seat belts, control levers and small covers or details of both interior and exterior. The material is usually brass, with steel for some parts.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter with a powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, which became the backbone of the fighter force of the US Navy in the Pacific war. The F6F-3 version was the first production form and contributed markedly to winning air superiority over the Pacific. It stood out for its robust construction, heavy armament and good performance.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them over the edge of a ruler or in a bender. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and it is worth degreasing the surface before gluing. The set is aimed at more experienced modelers used to small metal parts.
The set does not include the model of the aircraft itself; it serves as an accessory for the matching kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
