This product is not an airplane model but a resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand (Aires). It holds a finely cast external fuel tank that can be hung under the fuselage or the wing of a model. Without the base aircraft kit you cannot use it.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat in the F6F-3 and F6F-5 versions was a carrier-based fighter; a drop tank extended its range and was common equipment under the fuselage. The resin casting offers a clean shape without the mold seam that a multi-part plastic piece has.
Separate the tank from the casting block, clean up the mating surface and wash the mold release agent off the casting. Bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and spray the surface with an airbrush in thin coats.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and requires the base aircraft kit, which is not included in the package.
