Omask 1:48 F/A-18 A/B/C/D and CF-188 landing gear bay plugs (for Kinetic) are foam plugs that seal the landing gear bays of a Hornet model for the time of spraying. This is not a kit, so you have to own the Kinetic model.

This product is not an aircraft model but a masking accessory. It contains no plastic parts and no decals, so you have to own the Hornet kit from Kinetic in 1:48 scale. The plugs are made of flexible foam and are shaped for the landing gear bays of that kit. The set covers the variants F/A-18 A/B/C/D and the Canadian CF-188, which Kinetic builds on a common kit structure.
A landing gear bay is a deep cavity with a great deal of detail and a modeler paints it first. When it comes to spraying the outside of the model, it then has to be masked, otherwise paint is driven into it and the finished work is ruined. Masking with tape and cotton wool is lengthy with an intricate cavity and does not seal perfectly anyway. A plug is a shaped part that fits into the bay exactly and seals it: it is inserted, the model is sprayed, and once dry it is taken out. The foam compresses slightly in the bay, so it seals even on an uneven edge, and it needs no gluing. Besides paint it also protects the bay during sanding and against dust.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American carrier-borne multirole machine; the designation F/A gives away that it handles the fighter and the attack role alike, which was new at the time it was introduced. The A and C versions are single-seaters, the B and D two-seaters. CF-188 is the Canadian designation of the Hornet in the service of the Royal Canadian Air Force; for a modeler that means different national markings and equipment but the same airframe basis. As a carrier aircraft the Hornet has sturdy landing gear built for hard touchdowns on the deck of a carrier, and its bays are deep and full of pipework and cabling, that is exactly what you do not want to mess up after painting.
