Replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for models of the F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornet carrier airplane in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet is an American twin-engine carrier multirole airplane, single-seat in the E version and two-seat in the F version. The exhaust nozzles change shape according to the regime of the engine, so a builder can show them on a model drawn in, or on the contrary opened out. This set is done in the closed, that is, the drawn-in position.
Replacement nozzles meant to be swapped for the corresponding parts of a kit. Separately supplied nozzles tend to be thin-walled and to have a well worked out inside as well as outer overlapping, which is only with difficulty captured in injection-molded plastic. It is precisely the thin rim of a nozzle that is the place where the difference against the part from the kit is noticed first.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the thin rim stays. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the inside of a nozzle before you glue it to the fuselage, because afterwards you will no longer get inside. Lay on the metallic shades and the traces of heat discoloration in thin coats and grade them apart from one another; a uniform silver area looks flat on a model. The particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
