A Big Ed combined package from Eduard for the Fairey Gannet AS.1 model in 1:48 - several accessory sets together.
Responsibility details are not available.
Big Ed is the way Eduard brings several of its accessory sets for one kit together in a common package. The customer gets a set of accessories for the same model all at once and does not have to put them together piece by piece. It is not an aircraft model but equipment for a modeler who already has a Gannet kit or is getting one.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier aircraft intended for anti-submarine work. The AS.1 version filled that role in the 1950s with the Fleet Air Arm. Its powerplant was unusual: a single Double Mamba turboprop unit drove a pair of contra-rotating propellers, and one of its halves could be shut down in flight, which extended the time on patrol. The fuselage held a crew of three in two separate cockpits and the wing folded twice over for parking below deck. The result was a machine of extraordinary shape that cannot be overlooked in a display case.
Accessories of this kind aim at the places where injection-molded plastic is by its nature too coarse - at surfaces with fine relief, at small reinforcements and at shapes that could not be cast in a mold. On an aircraft with such a broken-up surface and with two cockpits there is plenty of room for improvement. Check the specific composition of the package on the packaging; combined packages differ in their contents according to which sets were made for a given model.
