1:32 One busy day carrier crew on deck (scene 1) (6 pcs)

Carrier crew on deck 1:32 — a set of six Reskit figures

This is a set of six figures in 1:32 scale from Reskit, representing a busy working day of the flight deck personnel of an aircraft carrier. The designation scene 1 refers to the first of two connected sets that the manufacturer offers on this subject. It is not an aircraft kit — these are accessory figures intended to bring a model or a diorama to life. The figures are supplied unpainted.

What the set is for

An aircraft model in 1:32 scale looks static in a display case on its own. A human figure beside it shows the real size of the machine at once and turns a display piece into a tableau. The flight deck personnel of an aircraft carrier are a rewarding subject for that purpose: the individual trades work in differently colored coveralls and vests, so even a small group of figures brings color and movement to the deck. Figures captured in working poses come into their own during refueling, preparation for launch and the movement of a machine around the deck.

Painting tips

First rid the figures of production remains, clean up the parting lines and degrease the surface. Apply a thin base from a spray can or with an airbrush — without it the paint holds badly on a smooth surface. Spray the coveralls and vests in a base shade and work the volume up with a dark wash into the folds and a dry brush across the edges. The faces deserve separate attention: a base skin tone, a darker glaze into the shadows and gentle lightening of the cheekbones. At the end, unify the whole figure with a matte varnish, so that gloss does not spoil the impression of cloth.

Who the set is for

• For builders of aircraft models in 1:32 scale who want to show the scale of the model clearly.
• For makers of dioramas with an aircraft carrier deck.
• For modelers who enjoy painting figures and want to practice faces and cloth.
• For collectors who combine several sets into one larger scene.

The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue, an aircraft model and a base are not included in the package.
