Eduard SPACE — Fieseler Fi 156C Storch 1:48 (3D decals + color belts)

The SPACE set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. It holds color 3D printed interior decals (the instrument panel, side consoles and other surfaces of the cockpit) supplemented by etched color seat belts. The decals are built up in relief and carried on paper, so the instruments and controls look three-dimensional — unlike ordinary flat decals. Everything comes finished in color and nothing needs painting: the parts are simply released from the paper and set in the corresponding places in the cockpit. The set is intended for the plastic kit of the Fieseler Fi 156C Storch in 1:48 scale (the base model is not included in the package).

Use

• Clean the cockpit before work and let the base dry completely — the elements hold best on a smooth, degreased surface.
• Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel; moisten only the backing paper with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent and lift the part off with tweezers.
• The element has no adhesive layer of its own, so fix it with PVA glue (white glue); the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate on the printed parts.
• Do not use a decal softener, as its chemistry attacks the printed resin of the element.
• Bend the etched belts gently over an edge before shaping them — that gives a natural drape over the seat. Finish the interior before the fuselage is closed up.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want to lift the cockpit of a Storch to the level of a finished museum interior quickly and without an airbrush. The glazed, clearly visible cockpit of the Fi 156C is exactly the case where a well worked interior really pays off — on the Storch practically all of it is visible. Even a moderately advanced builder can manage it, because it calls for no sanding and no painting.

This is a supplementary set, not a model. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
