The set from the manufacturer Metallic Details presents the American Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial aircraft engine in a detailed rendition in the late version, in 1:32 scale. The parts are made with modern technology (3D printing) with faithful detail of the cylinders, the ignition harness and the auxiliary units. It is not a kit of an aircraft, but an accessory for superdetailing the power unit, suitable especially where the engine or part of it is left exposed on the model.
The Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp was an air-cooled eighteen-cylinder two-row radial engine, one of the most powerful and most widespread American piston aircraft engines. It powered a range of well known aircraft of the Second World War as well as of the postwar era, among them fighters and attack and transport machines. The late version designates a more advanced rendition of the engine.
Clean the parts of the print supports, and wash them if need be. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). It is advisable to paint the engine and to accentuate it with a wash and a dry brush, so that the rich detail stands out. Protect your airways when sanding and cutting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
