Xtradecal 1:48 Fighters over North Africa and the Mediterranean - the first part is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale. These are supplementary markings for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A themed decal sheet from the manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale, devoted to fighters deployed in the North African and Mediterranean area. This is the first part of a line; the second part is a separate product with its own content. The sheet contains markings for a finished painted model, and neither a kit nor paints are part of it.
The North African and Mediterranean theater had color standards of its own. The upper surfaces of the aircraft generally wore sand and brown shades and the undersides light blue, and the finish wore out quickly in desert conditions: fine dust dulled the paint and oil and fuel left traces around the engine panels. Besides the national insignia, supplementary identification bands and markings routinely appeared, meant to make recognition in the air easier.
Large decals, such as bands or extensive areas of marking, cannot be laid down dry: as soon as they touch the varnish they grip and you can no longer move them. Flood the place of application with a generous layer of water with a drop of detergent, therefore, and slide the decal onto it. On a film of water it can be set at leisure and aligned with the engraved lines, and only then is the water squeezed out from the middle toward the edges with a damp sponge or a soft cloth. Always work from the center outward, otherwise a bubble will be left under the decal.
This is a standalone decal sheet, that is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
