This resin accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the wheels from a plastic kit with more accurate parts for models of the FM-2 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket set of landing gear wheels.
The replacement wheels bring a fine rendering of the tire tread and of the details of the hubs. The tire profile is usually treated as slightly compressed under the weight of the aircraft, which makes the model sit realistically on its landing gear. The wheels are fitted in place of the original plastic parts.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut off the sprue gates and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; separate the tires and the hubs with shades and a fine wash.
The set does not contain the airplane model, paints or glue. It serves as an accessory for a plastic kit.
