The GBU-15(V)1/B guided glide bomb in 1:48 scale from Eduard. An armament accessory for an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The GBU-15 is an American guided glide bomb of modular construction. A guidance head and a set of lifting and control surfaces are fitted to the body of the bomb, thanks to which the weapon covers a considerable distance after release and heads for the target instead of simply falling ballistically. The designation in brackets distinguishes the individual forms, which differ above all in the guidance section. On a model it is a conspicuously large store that markedly changes the silhouette of the machine under the wing.
An armament accessory in 1:48 scale, a guided bomb in the GBU-15(V)1/B form. The number of pieces in the package, any pylons and the kit the set is prepared for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Add-on weapons come in useful where a kit offers no such store at all or where its shape is only suggested.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest, so that the body of the bomb stays smooth and symmetrical. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. The lifting surfaces are fragile, so fit them only once the body is painted. Compare the mounting and the make-up of the armament with photographs of the machine you are building.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
