Decals in 1:48 scale from the brand Model Maker with the markings of a German Starfighter of the F-104G version in the service of the MFG 2 unit and of its Vikings display appearance. It is an accessory for marking a model, not a kit. The G version was the most widespread variant of the Starfighter, so you will find a suitable kit in this scale without trouble.
Aircraft intended for appearances at air shows were given striking additional markings that did not appear on the unit's line machines. A model of such an aircraft is therefore interesting exactly for its decals: the base finish usually stays close to the ordinary one, but the artwork on the fin, the nose or the tip tanks turns the model into an instantly recognizable piece.
Prepare a glossy, perfectly dry surface. Cut the elements out as closely as possible, so as little carrier film as possible is left. On the tip tanks and the curved edges of the fin, work with water generously and seat the decal into the flat part first, only then drawing it gradually over the edge. Add the softener repeatedly in small doses. Once dry, the final varnish follows - on display machines usually a satin one, since they were kept in better condition than aircraft in ordinary service. The model then only needs protecting from direct sunlight, which harms the colors of decals most.
The decals are supplied on their own. The kit, the paints, the gloss varnish and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
