An aftermarket set of photo-etched parts from the Czech maker Hauler for the kit of a German heavy motorcycle with a sidecar. It is not a kit of the motorcycle but an accessory for a model you buy separately. The parts are cut for the Tamiya kit.
Heavy motorcycles with a driven sidecar served the German army in the Second World War for reconnaissance, communications and carrying crews. They were sturdy machines with large fenders, luggage racks and a whole series of small grab handles - that is, with exactly those elements that in a small scale are necessarily thick and coarse in plastic.
A motorcycle is one of the smallest objects built in 1:48, and the size of the parts matches. Work over a light-colored surface and with a box under the table - photo-etch that comes loose springs away and disappears. Cut with a scalpel, never twist a part out of the fret, or it will stay bent. Choose tweezers with flat rounded tips and rather a weaker spring. Brackets and handles are better mounted onto a finished and painted frame.
Degrease with spirit, apply a thin primer and paint best with an airbrush - a heavy coat of paint from a brush will fill the fine etched structures and the point of the accessory disappears. Wire elements, such as cables or spoke lacing, we recommend finishing after the varnishing. Keep the weathering sparing, as the small area of the model will take only a little wash and pigment.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit; it is not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
